I'm not a big fan of a lot of fire-type designs, but Heatran is my favorite for a couple reasons. I like the abstract lava monster feel it has, and I really like steel-types in general. Close follow-ups for me would be Lampent, Oricorio, and Volcarona.

Quilava is also pretty great, I think it has to do with the fact that I played gold right at the beginning of my angsty teen age years, and I related with the awkward, but still slick styling of him.

Back in highschool, I was walking around with some friends- I think we were maybe on our way to get some food- and I was in the middle of trying to catch Heatran. Dude was giving me a hell of a time, but I finally catch him. Name him FuckinCunt because i was so frustrated. Then, as he's being sent to the PC, I bump into my friend and drop my ds, cartridge pops out, game over.

Braixen, Flareon, Ninetales, Fennekin, Salazzle, Arcanine, Typhlosion and Quilava are all among my favorites
