Anyone here actually tried Decidueye?
I'm just curious, it looks fun to play, but not all that good of a character desu, I'm not sure if he's main worthy.
And if they showed more videos or him actually WINNING it would help a lot will still try him regardless.

Got to play Decidueye for a few rounds at Nintendo NY last week. Lots of fun. Surprisingly not as projectile oriented as I thought it would be. Lots of options to attack from the air: it can hover, air dash, dive kick, fire projectiles, slam to the ground, do a command grab with its talons, and teleport to the ground to Sucker Punch the opponent in the gut. It's got a Frenzy Plant attack (back A) that seems strong with a cooldown animation, I saw some people throwing it out to end combos instead of just continuing to mash the same button. A couple of its moves use Spirit Shackle arrows with a ghostly effect, including a normal attack, a grab, a trap move, and its Burst Attack, and they seal the opponent from using Support. That can be used strategically to throw off opponents. Aesthetically, it's got a mix of Ghost and Grass type attacks, some fighter kicks and punches and slashes, and some swooping bird-like movements. It's got an invincible forward dash in duel phase, but I forgot to check if the up and down stances had any passive effects. I can't say for sure what it's overall playstyle and strategy will be when it gets developed by actual players but it seems more in-your-face than you'd think an archer would be. Not a dedicated zoner.

It actually is a pretty awesome support set. The double jump option has some nice utility and Litten at low HP is surprisingly devastating.

I also want to echo what the other anons said: don't assume Decidueye is a bad fighter because of the first 3 videos we've seen. This roster is surprisingly balanced overall and I didn't pick up any glaring flaws or blind spots in its tool kit while playing or watching others play. I'll reserve final judgment for once we've mastered the moveset, combos, mixups, and matchups, but I think it's perfectly fine and intend to main it myself.

Yeah I love Bewear aswell. Hopefully we'll get a few DLC characters, Incineroar, Lycanroc and Bewear are probably the best candidates for Gen 7 additions, maye Tapu Koko aswell since TPCI likes it so much.
