Huh, I thought I was the only one who had noticed (and was annoyed) by that detail of lycanroc's design.

I don't really like the way Tsareena's legs connect to her hips. It feels like the legs and the body are from entirely different entities.

I wish Barboach and Whiscash lost the zigzags, or at least I wish they looked better. I think Garchomp would look great with most of his spiky little details removed.

I kind of wished Salazzle's flame pattern looked more fluid and possibly extended down the arms connecting to the palms.

My only problem with Tsareena is that she's too pastel. She'd look better with a deeper green and magenta. But then, pretty much all the Pokemon in the 3DS have that unfortunate washed-put palette. I wish SM had updated the models with more vibrant shades.

I do like the way tsareena looks in fanart; artists always make the leg-hip connection look as organic as possible.

However, the official artwork and the 3D model make it look weird, like if the legs were in front of the body and not a part of it, like if they were dettached.

Greninja's tail flips up into his crotch too. I think it's intentional, to add a little more masculinity to the designs. Japan has an entire penis festival, so it doesn't seem that weird. Mechs often have some kind of protruding crotch decor.

Incineroar looks way better when they make its hands and feet even more slightly cat-like (the fingers bent and close like normal cat digits, the feet lifted on heels to be digitigrade) as well as making it hunched over like an actual tiger.

Dream World portrait also shows off the hunched-over/digitigrade feet really well since this is the highest resolution of this particular image so far.

You could fill a novel with the list of things wrong with the gen 5 starters but this in particular is just glaring.

I really hate Tsareena's hips. The white fruits(?) look like teeth and the magenta parts that connect them to her look like gums. Whenever I see her I have this feeling the "teeth" will fall out and leave gaping, disgusting holes. I love her design outside of that detail but I just can't look at her without thinking about that.

I think most it is kids not giving much of a fuck as long as the Pokemon looks cool or pretty. The most you'll get out of a kid is something like "it's ugly" or "too girly" instead of some detailed analysis on anatomy or artistic design concepts. Only adults do that. The designers are fully aware of all this.

This is kinda unrelated but

How come there is not a single person in Pokemon that likes certain Pokemon just based on what they have? For example, you never hear anyone in Pokemon say that they really like Pokemon with tentacles or whatever.
