The water possum is a good idea, but good it's design is ugly. You've got to make it cuter, maybe give it more of a bite as it evolves. Also, this is an edited Totodile, isn't it?

I honestly feel the fire starter should be a quadruped, it's proportions are kinda awkward. Otherwise fine.

Grass sloth is best design by far, but it doesn't convey its Grass type very well. Maybe if its fur was designed to look as if it were made of leaves?

Plattle and Aardva are good. They don't have a defining theme (as is the case with most first-stage starters) but they look quirky and different enough from the animals they're based on to work. Really don't like Hedgecko though. It's basically just Treecko except incredibly generic and looks way too much like a generic real life chameleon.

Hedgeko was definitely the weakest in design, from what I've gathered from my friends' opinions. Sadly he's one of my favorite designs, and my bias has gotten the better of me. Maybe one day I'll go back and see a way to differentiate it, but as of now it's hard to do that since it links up with its evos much easier being simple.

You just need found a good theme for each final evo, by example:

Fire one theme Samurai and Knight was used by Samurott and Chesnaught repectively. Try with some more original.

Grass one, is a original theme, but need less details in 2ns stage, so the impact of its evolution is better.

Water one, not ofense but this one need be redisegn since zero.

These comments have moved me into going a different route with the water starter's final evo. Thanks for being honest with its appearance, because I was also on the edge of changing it.

However, this opens up to what the final evo will be themed on now. I was thinking of making it sort of regal maybe? So it'll have a royal theme, and that's where the "waifu" look would come from. I'm open to other ideas, however, so feel free to throw out some things!

I kinda like that platypus, but my main issue with these is that the grass and water both have similar builds and are in similar poses.

The artist I comissioned has yet to really bring about what I am looking for.

The grass starter is based on a giant ground sloth. The green is moss. I wanted it come off the face in a pattern as it was supposed to be based of a Maori warrior.

Fire is a spartan warrior.

Water is an Aztec.

Original design of fire starter. Done by a different artist but too much like chickorita.

I just want to find someone who can do this shit right as I can't draw. I have a whole dex I want to get fleshed out.
