Gold was my brother's game, never did restart it but played through with his team plenty. Leaf Green I couldn't finish because in the days of gameshark I hacked the hms in before getting thru the story and got stuck. Heart Gold was a rom on my phone that got reset and I was too pissed to restart it. Didn't start replaying games til gen 6 when I got back into the series and went back to play my favorites.

Keep in mind everything was played on emulator except for gen I, so there was no incentive to play online or to fill GF's pockets with buying their copypasted game.

Well, you only need to play each version twice in order to mark it as green, and I usually play each version at least once at release, and then again some other time. Aside from RBY and GSC which were pretty much the only games I owned as a kid, I only replayed Emerald, Platinum, and Black 2 more then twice.

rby is possible if you got the mew event and traded to stadium before your internal battery failed, but the non japanese versions gsc never got a celebi event so a legitmate living dex is impossible
