If they keep using those geometrically primitive models for the Switch game just because they are high poly, I'll be turned away immediately. They worked fine on a low res handheld, but they are already pretty dated with how simplified they are. I don't want Pokken levels of detail, but they have to at least adhere to the standards of modern council games and add some curvature and detail to those models, not just fall back on how many polys they have. Decent textures are a must as well.

Of course. I don't have a Switch and am not buying one now just for a game that isn't being released for another year at least. By the time the game is released the price might even drop a little bit. Besides, I doubt the Switch game will be the same as USUM, which will be an updated version of SM with tutors, hopefully national dex and maybe some kind of different post game facility.

I have no desire to buy a Switch. I have no desire to go back to playing Pokemon monoscreen. It's possible I could change my mind once we start getting reveals, but by then Nintendo will have probably/hopefully released a Switch build that doesn't look like complete ass. And until then I'm fine with USM being my final Pokemon game. I spent more time replaying gens 4 and 5 than 6 and 7 anyway.

I will, I already have a 3DS, I won't be buying a switch until they iron out the launch defects, and have a pool of games of equal value to the console that I'm interested in.

I've grown tired of Mario games and the like. I used to love it so much but if just feels stale these days, same could be said for that Yoshi game on the E3 showcase.

The important part is they fix the hardware issues first, I bought a launch PS2 and after 3 DVD eye replacements, I'm not about to buy another disaster like that. I had enough friends and family asking me to reball their 360's that RROD'ed.

I might've been a real wiz fixing and hacking consoles in my day, but if I can't get 3 years out of it without tearing it apart to fix it, it's not worth my time and money anymore.I want to play, not fix shit all the time. Besides in this replaceable generation of 'just buy a new one' I can't even have a steady side job fixing electronics anymore.

We don't know yet if the Switch game will even come out in 2018, and there is a good chance it could be a 2019 release depending on when development started (I am guessing it has been in development at least a year or two, so hard to say).
