That could be in 2018, but it could be in 2019 as well. All official sources have left the actual release date as vague as possible because not even GF is sure when the games will be ready.

If it's going to come out next year they would have just said it's come out next year.They probably have it planned for a Fall 2018 release but they're unsure if they'll be actually be able to release it by then.

I'll honestly take a 2019 release over a more rushed 2018 release.

I hope it's released in 2019 and not 2018. I want Game Freak to actually spend time on this game instead of releasing unfinished games like they have been doing for the past 4 years.

Pokemon doesn't need to be a yearly franchise, anyone who thinks it does is indirectly killing the series.
