Issue is that the Bank is Pokemon exclusive while the Switch online service is universal. I doubt Nintendo would give Gamefreak a cut alone and no other developer for their maintenance on Pokemon Bank unless it gets merged with Nintendo's own servers.

Anon, there's already data in SM for Pokemon originating from GO, there's just no way to actually transfer them yet. They were probably saving it for USUM and put the data in there so you could trade the GO mons back to SM.

Literally the entire reason Bank exists is so that Pokemon can be forward compatible for all future generations
