Plus there wasn't anything ground-shaking about FireRed or LeafGreen. It was actually sort of a downer because you couldn't obtain (well, you could if you traded with FireRed or LeafGreen) Pokemon outside of the original Pokedex until you defeated the Champion. No breeding until then either. Even after you could access the National Dex, the only Pokemon outside of generations I & II were Azurill & Wynaut, but of course those two are offspring of Pokemon from generation II. Not even all non-legendary generation II Pokemon were available (Hoothoot, Chinchou, Mareep, Sudowoodo, Aipom, Sunkern, Girafarig, Pineco, Gligar, Snubbull, Shuckle, Teddiursa, Corsola, Houndour, Stantler, Smeargle, & Miltank), so that means an absurd amount of trading would be required to complete the National Pokedex. Oh, & Eevee can't even evolve into Espeon or Umbreon in these games due to the omission of time or any sort of substitute.

I was pretty hype for Sinnoh remakes until I realized they'd be on the Switch.

We get HD but we're probably losing all the fun touch gimmicks the gen introduced, the fun apps that actually increased quality if life, and a general cut to atmosphere.
They'll also be the first remakes shoehorned onto a home console.

I want to be hype, and It would be nice having games for my Switch, but I just...don't feel it.
Like it really pisses me off my favorite gen is probably going to have the shittiest remakes because Nintendo turned their back on handheld gamers to sell a home console.

You are stupid if you think the first main pokemon game on the switch will be dp remakes. They would be much better off releasing gen 8 to give everyone a brand now experience. At this point if we get dp remakes it would be 3ds or after gen 8 launches. Furthermore they just began production and they themselves have even said that it will take over a year. So here is the options for how this plays out: 1) we get dp remakes next year and the gen 8 launches on switch in 2019 or 2) gen 8 launches in 2019 and then dp remakes a year or 2 latter. Both are possible. Opption 1 makes since because game dev takes quite awhile. Meaning they have to build so much up from the ground up. Also we know that they have 2 production teams. Meaning one team is working on dp while the other is working on gen 8.
