Nowhere. Games that are eclipsed by remakes or definitive third versions are not included in the list, and I consider Emerald to be better than ORAS.

I agree with this point. XY were bad. BW and SM weren't great, but at least better than XY.

BW2 is proof /vp/ cares way too much about postgame.
BW were genuinely better games with a fine crafted story and they based the whole region around being it's own enclosed ecosystem. BW2 fucked all of that up just to appease people who were afraid of the new world presented by BW, which was the whole point of the gen.

Well, I don't really dislike Johto itself.
It's a rating mostly based on game balance, the most important thing to me, then story.
HGSS doesn't have any of that, only flashy additions and some aesthetic.
Outside of the upgraded mechanics, there was no real improvements.

BW2 aren't the definitive Unova games. They're sequels, you have to play them and the first games to get the full story of Unova.

Games like Platinum and FRLG tell the same story as the original but with minor additions or changes.

I personally think that these great ball tier pokemon games fucked up with shitty in game content, if they made them even better then I would put them on ultra or even higher, pokemon games are rather mediocre in general

the real problem with them is that they are so linear, they have very little locations to discover, very little secrets, very predictable pokemon distribution, legendaries are too easy to obtain ect. I don't believe this is hardware limitation anymore, GF is just fucking stupid and games are boring, they cannot balance between story and adventure, they cannot put more interesting encounters like in ecruteak city and so on, pokemon games could be much better
