I've never played a 3DS game but can't you hide the bars in multimon battles like in the GBA games (you see the HP values instead)?

Platinum looks unfinished and unprofessional.
HGSS, ORAS and FRLG look the best IMO.

Do not care about the design, but having to wait forever for the bar to go down when using a super powerful move on a lvl 3 Pokemon you found in the wild is tedious.
