IMO Fearow's still better today. Mega Pidgeot's one of the worst megas. No Guard just puts a giant "Stone Edge me" sign on Pidgeot and it's super predictable since all it can take advantage of is Hurricane and Heat Wave. Fearow gives you a decent amount of stuff without using a Mega Slot. Also Mirror Move in Gen 1 for what it's worth.

This, fearow and pidgeot were usable but of you didn't drop them the second doduo became available you're a moron. The only proper regional birds that are actually good in game are toucannon and staraptor, and talonflame if you somehow didn't end up with charizard or fennekin.

I like Fearow better. It's in my top 3 flying types. But after gen 6 Pidgeot was better competitively. I think Fearow and Xatu are the only cucked early birds not to receive any kind of stat buff which is really upsetting.

Fearow. Spearow is miles better than Pidgey, comparable to Pidgeotto, and Fearow was better than Pidgeot at any stage, especially once it got Drill Peck.
In-game, Fearow remains better, as its various additions to its movepool are all solid, while Pidgeot remains with jack shit, and its Mega is generally unavailable.
Competitive, nowadays it's debatable, really. Mega Pidgeot is hands-down better, but also eats your Mega slot. It's up to you if you want to conserve the Mega slot and use the better base bird.

It's not a mega, but it is a nice boost.

Yeah, toucannon is my fav but dodrio is undeniably great. Loved it before the crazy buffs it got this gen.
