Pic related for me; salazzle is pretty good, but you can't beat perfection. Carracosta and arbok are in similar boats. Cyndaquil is so much better than quilava and typhlosion that it hurts.
It hasn't been posted yet, but I know grovyle's going to show up in this thread, and I still think the only people who like grovyle over treecko and sceptile either didn't like treecko to begin with or played too much Mystery Dungeon.

I like Treecko and Grovyle the same(never played Mystery Dungeon) but something about Sceptile always felt a bit disappointing for me. I do like it, though.

Also, pic related's final evo was really fucking shocking for me as a kid. I usually don't mind when GF tries to "surprise" fans with starter evos, but Blaziken was too much for me.

This one confuses me. Toxicroak is one of the few times I think a evolution genuinely keeps the same charm of the prior evolution. Toxicroak took everything great about croagunk and just made it more.

It's weird. I actually like this entire line in general but I agree, duskull is overall better then the evolutions.

My main two are poliwhirl and phatump but I actually like poliwrath/politoed and trevenant, just not as much. However, this shit is unacceptable. These two are basically perfection and then goodra ruins it.
