You have to send in a hail setter, switch in Sandslash, probably set up a Swords Dance, then start attacking. That's two Ice types on a team, 2 hits taken before you can do anything, and a maximum of 5 turns to fight. Niche at best.

Well you'd need to start with a reason to ever use it over donphan, which is already a shit excadrill. So an easy out with this might be to give it spikes, which would be unique between the three ground type spinners. Extra stats anywhere, but especially HP and attack will help it a good deal. Other than that not much can help it short of full retard measures.
