you could keep fearow until you get zapdos, it's a pretty good pokemon. Other than that everything is pretty viable. Also keep in mind that even if there's 150 pokemon, if you remove not fully evolved ones, there's like 30 different to choose from

I forgot how comphy Red is. I don't have to worry about natures, abilities, all sorts of "new" stuff. I can just catch some PkMn, battle some folks and not have to worry about anything really. It's like winding down after a workout or reading a book before bed. Just some nice, easy time with something I enjoy.

Also my Nidoking is over-leveled because I didn't want the SS Anne to leave without beating all the trainers, but already got Cut from the Capitan (I forgot getting Cut makes the ship sail after you exit). Heracles managed to sweep Gary's entire team and manhandle the remaining trainers as he was the only poke who didn't faint at that point. Thrash and Horn Attack are busted as fuck.

And yes I know Nemesis is spelled wrong but that was my OT name when I first got Red/Blue and I wanted to go full nostalgia mode.
