Regular Greninja and Ash Greninja are tiered differently like Mega Evolutions, they have seperate usage stats and a seperate tiering as a result. Just because Protean Greninja gets suspected doesn't mean Ash Gren will too

Anon, do you not understand how Mega Evolution tiers work? Imagine. If Garchomp is banned to Ubers. But only Garchomp. Mega Garchomp isn't seen as that big of a threat. Can you, in this situation, use Mega Garchomp in OU? No, anon. You can't. Because to get Mega Garchomp, you have to use Garchomp in OU, as without Garchomp in a OU battle, you can't Mega Evolve it into Mega Garchomp.

See? Similarly, if Greninja is banned to Ubers, you can't use Greninja in OU. If you can't use Greninja, you KO with a Greninja and get a AshNinja. So if Greninja is banned, AshNInja is too. Now, the only way around it is to ban Protean Greninja only, but that's the Blaze Blaziken situation again. It requires complex ban, as you're only banning a single set of Greninja, something Smogon is against.
