This is an alternate dimension meaning diff things could have evolved over time and have diff native pokes

I could only see the Spinerak Line, Ledyba Line, and Snubbull Line if they make it so you can only get the original forms in the first version to encourage people to buy both but...that feels silly

I think you can include the ones that are local to Alola too (the starters, Lanturn,etc.)

There's going to be a new expanded regional dex anyway so they could use that opportunity to add them in

Considering Alolan Marowak and Exeggutor, I don't think it's unreasonable to have a couple of the evos of Gen 1 Pokemon as Alolan forms. That's basically Crobat and Bellossom, though.

Sorry, looking now wooper/quagsire, quilifish, remoraid/octillary, corsola, and chinchou/lanturn should be possible. Some think pokemon on the alolan dex won't gen new forms, hence corsola and chinchou/lanturn.

Ledyba, Spinarak, Bonsly, Snubbull, Skarmory, Delibird, Smeargle, and Miltank are all in the Alola Dex already. Slugma and Macargo are statues in the Poke Pelago hotsprings.

What areas do they have to expand on in Alola? (aside from new islands) Volcano Park could have tunnel system, the stepped pool area has a cave entrance, not sure what else.

If it's an alternate story, there's nothing stopping them from giving Pokemon already in the SM dex an Alolan form. As of now the only ones who won't get Alolan forms are Pokemon with a mega. And even with those they could bullshit their way around it by making the megastone only work on the non-Alolan form.

Remove mons with no evolutionary relatives
Remove gimmickmons like Smeargle/Wobbuffet
Remove Spinarak, Ledyba, Snubbull for already being in SM
Add Wooper and Remoraid.

Phanpy and Teddiursa seem like the most likely candidates to me. Phanpy is Silver-exclusive (alongside Vulpix and Meowth) and Teddiursa is its Gold-exclusive counterpart (GF might switch to the red team for complete re-typing).
I also think Natu/Xatu is very likely, if they make any new Alola forms at all.

Regional forms are quite possibly the best gimmick they've ever come up with, more than anything I'm excited to see what new ones there will be in US/UM

Did any of the old ones end up being meta though? I know alola marowak was actually being used for a while but I kinda quit playing competitive so idk if any are still OU
