A simple way around the level grinding is to catch some high level pokemon like in Victory Road and keep wonder trading it until you get a Clovour (Yotsuba). Boosted exp and it will also be around level 50, so it's not terribly hard to grind it out.

Of course, I didn't realize this and I used the same Clovour from level 4 up until 60. Needless to say that Clovour was dead fucking weight on my team after the second gym, and I considered evolving it using a Leaf Stone, or replacing it on my team for Deloris.

But I grinded out all those levels by killing a bunch of Mexican stereotypes in the Border Hop and a god was born.

Of course, Chanolour has the perks of being a beastly type + Sap Sipper for those pesky Spore users.

I just really overestimated Condoom's ability to kill him. I had whizzard on deck who would have outsped and probably oneshot with LO hurricane, but once he set up there was no stopping him.

HMs are relearnable, one Vandash works just fine.
Especially considering FRLG has no HM8, Waterfall hasn't been released yet, Surf is a strong move you will most likely put on your water type mon, and most HM moves are used only once or twice.
Fast and frail mons are generally better than slow and bulky ones, but you can get away with using pretty much almost everything.
So don't put that much thought into it, pcik the best starter Rectreem, and start playing

What happened was that it was only person responsible for giving Pokémon egg moves. That person didn't know half of the moves she thought of were either not in the game or just illegal to pass down. I made a list of all the illegal egg moves and they made almost all of them legal. They didn't remove a single egg move but instead they started to give level up moves Pokémon that could pass down these moves.

It's a good idea in itself but they mostly just gave the final evolution of the family all the illegal egg moves. So for example, Smogaroben had Shell Smash and Bullet Punch as egg moves but no Pokémon in the Flying egg group could learn it at the time. The devs gave these moves to Smoxilon via level up. The problem is that you don't actually need the egg move if the Pokémon learns it naturally or via TM.

Same thing happened to Mabster. Water 3 egg group. Very few families. Instead of removing all the random moves from Praunch's egg move list they gave it all to Mabster. So 90% of Praunch's egg moves are Mabster's level up moves.

Frutagon is in the Monster and Dragon egg group yet it was given a bunch of moves that plant-like Pokémon can learn.

Not really. For once, I don't think they are even implemented yet but you can look at any mon and see if you want any egg moves on them. There are some good, like Spore Armowite, etc. In Clover, everything gets good STABs or support moves by level up so it's not that important as it is in the main games.

Most likely not. There can be only so many custom moves, and most of them are already used in.game, as signature moves of mostly starters or legendaries.
I think having Za Warudo move would be really cool (there was one planned for Clover 2 a long time ago), but only moves it could possibly replace are Riot Shield, Falcon Punch or Swindle.
I don't think we will get Za Warudo, but I think we should get it.

Just completed it last night and I'm hunting legendaries now, think the grotto with all the Gym Leaders up north is great, wish you could replay them again and again to lvl up.

Only hit problems with Keksandra's Flowre infront of Safari and Freddie's Tripsius, soon negated with gitting gud and getting a Spookzilla to Hypno mofos.
