If you use it for breeding you'll be fine (In case you got a 6IV shiny Ditto) but it's best to keep it to yourself or just release it, don't try to put it for trade online nor battle with it.

I have been wonder trading nonstop over the past few days. I have received three Kartanas over the course of these days, all three knowing the same moves, being caught in Malie Garden, and being level 60, one of them even has a nickname. What are the chances these Kartanas are legit and I can keep them for future trades?

Reason I need the Qualots is because something I transferred in from gen 6 apparently wasn't done being EV trained, and I've no idea how many Def EVs it has so I can't train its other stats until I figure that out. So I figure it would be easier to just drain those EVs.

Im sorta out of the loop when it comes to shiny hunting and last weekend in a SHW thread someone mentioned about the MM being broken in pokemon sun/moon.
Can someone explain to me how exactly is it broken? They mentioned something about seeds but how is that any different then any other RNG in previous games. Its just a luck of the draw, right?

I haven't done it myself so I don't know the details, but apparently the shiny status or a pokemon and, I guess 'IV slots' are sorta predetermined when breeding to an extent. People will breed a fuckton of Magikarp (because they hatch super fast) until they get a shiny, note the number of eggs it took, and then reset. I think there's a step here I'm missing (something about throwing away extra eggs to meet some number thingy), but they'll swap out the parents for something else and when they reach the same number of eggs, the pokemon bred by the new parents will be shiny instead.

I know there was an image guide somewhere floating around. Thought I saved it, but I can't find it.

Yeah i get that method and ive seen the guide for it too. But the guy wasnt saying that theres a better method, he was going on about how theres a specific seed which is set between parents and some parents have bad seeds with less chance of producing shinies but theres no way to tell if the parents have good seeds. I have no idea what thats about since it was the first time ive heard of it.
