We know absolutely nothing about the game except that it's basically a "third version" but split into two games. Third versions are an extremely shitty business practice, it basically encourages Game Freak to release unfinished games because they know they can make additional profit. Even if USUM are good, why did they bother releasing Sun/Moon last year? Unlike older consoles, where releasing a third version was the only way to distribute additional content, the 3DS can support DLC and patches. Why not just release USUM as DLC for a fraction of the full price instead of effectively making us pay for the same game twice? Things like this and how XY weren't patched to support ORAS mega-evolutions shows how outdated and incompetent Game Freak are.

Then there's the question of how they'll improve the game. Things like Pokemon diversity and post-game could be improved, but it will take a lot of work to make the Alola region enjoyable. Plus I don't think Game Freak will change there approach to story-telling either. They seem to handhold and railroad the player to ensure that they never get lost and they're always the centre of the universe. The games don't feel like adventures, they feel like a scripted series of events.
