I've struggled to find a way to remove Riolu and Lucario's bad design elements without just making it a generic fursuit but whoever made this did it pretty damn well.

The reason people got mad about Torracat turning into a bipedal anthro wrestler tiger is Litten and Torracat were both purely quadrupedal Pokemon with very little to hint at the wrestler theme, but at the final stage it randomly swaps to a biped and adopts the wrestler persona. The reason people got mad about Samurott not being a bipedal anthro otter samurai is that Oshawott and Dewott were both purely bipedal Pokemon using generic clam shell things as razors that did a decent enough job hunting at the samurai theme, but at the end it randomly turns into a quadrupedal sea lion samurai/samurai's horse hybrid.

Samurott is perfect. It just needed to be bipedal or semi bipedal.

Okay, mortar arms are cool, but the tail isn't fantastic and the ass head never bothered me that much.

Both Magmar and Magmortar are pretty shit designs. I don't really mind either all that much, though. I just kind wish they went in a direction more like >>32736977.

I honestly have little issues with Samurott being primarily a quadruped compared to most people here. While being an anthro-biped would justify the samurai concept it was building up, standing up 100% of the time kind of ruins the sleekness of the design and would feel like a water version of Incineroar(it even has visible pecs for crying out loud). They should've instead put heavy emphasis on it's bipedal capabilities being exclusive when using it's swords, or being a biped when battling in general so it could quick-draw while moving. I don't think its one of the most flawed designs ever, but they could've at least portrayed it wayy better.

Maybe the redesign of Samurott on this thread doesn't do its samurai origins justice. Still I think Samurott should've been bipedal like its prior evolutionary stages & should usurp the fighting type from genital warthog.
