You are very ungrateful, Ohmori who got the idea of cross-evolutions and the Wi-Fi functions in DP. Probably also came from him the Primal Reversion and the Delta Episode in ORAS. In SM with Poké-Ride, Z-Moves, Alola Forms, Trials, Totens and Ultra Beast. Unfortunately he also did the Festival Plaza which is quite similar to the Wi-Fi Plaza, to tell you the truth, the Festival Plaza is not that bad, just worse than the PSS. Masuda is not bad, but his ideas are too cosmetic, like the Rotom Dex that Ohmori does not like, besides being abandoned in the next generation. Ohmori usually has ideas that add to the game and can be used in subsequent generations, such as Regional Variant. I agree that he is not the best director, but does not need to crusify him.

ohmori put forth a decent story for the first two games and masuda gave us one hell of a regional pokedex and pretty decent QoL features like the PSS and Super Training in xy, so building off the original S&M with more utility features is always a plus
