The game makes it very clear that you can challenge the Calamity Ganon within the first few hours or you can do all the story stuff and undergo a long andventure. I hate how open world games give you the illusion of freedom by putting you in an open world, but restricting you to a main campaign like in FFXV.

BotW gives you true freedom and the length of the game is wholly dependent on how you play games. It has enough content to last hundreds of hours, but it gives you the tools to beat it in three.

That's not saying much. Sun and Moon were complete shit, and USUM will be just as bad but with even more cutscenes and edgier box legends.

Splatoon 2 seems fine, but it's gonna be the same situation as Splatoon; it'll be fun for a while, but once you've seen all the maps and used all the weapons, it'll get boring and you'll be tired of playing with all the little kids who don't understand the game and just ignore the objective.

And we don't know anything about Mario Odyssey; it looks pretty, but it may be short, it may be too easy, and so on. It's been a long time since we've had a really great Mario game, and especially with modern Nintendo, I don't hold much faith.

Also, the 3DS has a great library. It's been around for ages, I really doubt it's going anywhere, and I ESPECIALLY doubt the Switch is gonna replace it.

not everything has to be adhd dark souls-level of tough 24/7, and i played it to explore and have fun. it was tough in the beginning and easy towards the end. only gripe i have is that boss difficulty doesnt scale, so the final boss is easier by completing the game, and he's already easy. but that's really minor.
