People for some reason were really adamant that the next mainline Pokémon games would be on the Switch. BW2 released for the DS when the 3ds was already out. People were mad about it, because they wanted it on the new handheld. But Nintendo knew that putting a direct sequel to Black and White on a whole new system that at the time had just came out and most people didn't have would be fucking stupid. Same thing here.
