>Necrozma has the ability to manipulate light
>The Solgaleo and Lunala parts of the new forms look sort of like holograms
>The Pokemon Company rarely uses the same gimmick twice outside of remakes.
This isn't Necrozma fusing with Solgaleo and Lunala, this is Necrozma making itself look like Solgaleo and Lunala for whatever reason.

I like this theory and hope that it turns out to be real.
Fuck fusions.
>>32696588
Makes sense. But they'll go the easy route and make them fusions, or megas/primals/ultra evolution, I don't know why you expect more than that.
That's a good theory anon, in fact it coukd explain the dazzling forms and the unnecesary body parts...
I hope that... if this turns out to be true, Necrozma transform in the opposite of the legendary available, BW2 like.
I don't think they're fusions persay, I think it's just Necrozma forcefully manipulating Solgaleo and Lunala
Notice how they're always glowing like they do when using their signature moves, like they're being forced to always be at full power.

This makes a lot of sense.

>the subtitle is "a new light shines on alola"
>>32696588
Ok so either Necrozma is acting as a parasite in these forms or these are the forms it takes when exposed to sun/moon light
>>32696588
Good theory anon :3
Maybe it knows Solageo/Lulana is needed to deal with the Ultra Beasts, but the one currently in this dimension is just a Nebby, so it acts as a stand-in.

Pic related is Lunala using Moongwist Beam. Notice how the edges of its wings are still yellow, as opposed to this Necrozma-Lunala, where it's blue.

to add onto this, OP, I considered that Necrozma might be 'standing in' for something that isn't there, it's not that this universe's Nebby isn't evolved.
...it's that the protag from Sun/Moon came over to this world and took the Cosmog without realizing the ramifications of their actions.
