If there is some sort of Switch version, it has to be announced soon, well before USM are out. Otherwise there would be people who bought both SM and USM being told to buy the game a *third* time. Except the first trailer doesn't overlap, you just fucked up when scaling it down; you can see that all over your image where the trees, leaves, characters and fence posts all before the supposed "overlap" don't even line up.

I scaled it down while maintaining the same aspect ratio and it matches perfectly fine. Not to mention the aspect ratio of the first trailer doesn't even match the aspect ratio of the Switch.

The first trailer is the exact same gameplay footage, its just cropped top and bottom. That's literally it.

They don't though; when you scale it down proportionally and match all the elements within the image, the vertical borders line up perfectly too, and they would, because they are the same piece of 3ds footage.

The horizontal borders of course don't align because the footage has been cropped for the first trailer to give it a panoramic look. Thus why you can't see the trainers feet/top half of the image etc.

While we're all going completely nuts here, what do you guys make of the lack of diamond and Pearl on the shelf behind him? The space where they would be are where his head is. Notably firered and leafgreen were absent too. the johto plushies were in each video right at also their head level. If the johto starters aren't getting alola forms or megas then I think there will be a switch games on the continent with johto, kanto and sinnoh (sinjoh ruins, remember?)

They weren't there because they didn't have the space most likely, but if it is supposed to be a hint it's because we're not getting the remakes YET. Remakes come two hardware gens after the original gen. rgby=original game boy, frlg=game boy color skipping gameboy advance; gsc=gbc, hgss=ds not gba; rse=gba, oras=3ds not ds. Of the 3ds gets its own successor gen4 remakes will go on that, if the switch truely is the only console nintendo's going to put out this hardware gen with no dedicated handheld then we might get it on switch once it's got a bigger established user base and isn't flying off shelves anymore, if not then it'll be released as part of gen8 as whatever that gets put out on will have become the most supported thing nintendo has at the time.

Would make no sense for them to do that. What they are doing is re-releasing sun and moon with a slightly different storyline, like they did with Emerald for example, and are gonna use it as an easy way to make profits for very little actual game development. While simultaneously keeping the 3ds alive and still like its own stand alone system until Nintendo dumps it.

No reason to port it to the Switch at a pure profit stand point. They would be better off starting from scratch.
