Anyone here played through a game with more than 6 dedicated 'mons? As in having 6 on you that you often swap around with guys in your PC, but keeping them all similar levels.
Thinking of doing this in Emerald. Any thoughts?

I've not tried rotating teams yet, but I feel the need to attempt such an act now as it seems entertaining.

Yeh, I did it in Sun. My party was 8 or 9 total members, i think. It was pretty easy to keep everything about even-leveled. Emerald might be a bit more tedious in that regard since you won't have access to the gen 6+ exp share, but still shouldn't be too bad.
I tried to do that recently.
It's actually pretty fun, but at some point at around level 60-70 you will start getting lazy and start ignoring the box. Well, that's what happened to me.

Currently doing that with Sun/Moon
Switching between Charjavolt and Magnemite depending on the situation, and Aloan Grimer and Trumbeak

I once caught the first pokemon after each gym and released the ones I had previously, it was fun but infuriating

I think I did that in X. It was 7 mons, with the 7th being Salamence (line, as it was raised) as an HM slave.

I did that with the only good pokemon games in existance: B2W2
I usually find it pretty unnecessary, but I was forced to do so in an SM romhack that made the difficulty a lot higher.
Fuck Olivia in that, and fuck her shell smash minior.
