Nice! Unfortunately I do not have a 3ds.
I still have my Gameboy Micro from 10 or so years ago which still works fine. For Gen 1 and 2 I still have physical copies but tend to emulate on my Android since I don't want to delete my save files where I still have my in game teams from my first playthroughs

MyOldBoy for GB and GBC
MyBoy for GBA
Need to figure something out for DS (I have a hacked 3DS and an R4 cartridge that was blocked several updates ago, any way I can make it work?)

Hacked 3DS for Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 6, Gen 7, Prism
Hacked PSP for Gen 3 (Romhacks)

I try to always play games on their original hardware if possible, or at least a rerelease if it's a spinoff.
For GB games and hacks, I use either MyBoy! on my Android tablet VBA on my PC depending on how I want to play the game. If I feel like casually playing, I'll use PC and spam the speed button, but if I feel like getting engrossed in a game, I'll use my tablet so I don't use speed or savestates. I also love how it feels more like a handheld than my bulky computer.
My 3DS enables me to plah all generations.
I use random emulators for up to gen 3, but every DS emulator I've tried has terrible FPS
Drastic for Android is great and has emulated every game I've tried perfectly so far.
Unfortunately, it's not free.
I'm going to dump my Pokemon Sun save on my PC and try it out on the Citra emulator. It would be nice to play Pokemon Sun at HD with a mouse/keyboard and not on a tiny screen.
