We don't have the code file, so everything is still on theory.

The best explanation on berry spawning is from reddit. They say that there are 2 timers:
- The weakest berry spawns every 4s if there's no berries in the pond, and
- A random berry spawns every 16-20sec.
You can check this by staring at your phone. That explains why 2 berries can spawn at a same time.

So if you play a lot, obviously 2 berry method is the best. Otherwise there are many factors:
- Efficient cost (i.e. JP gain/coins giving) and
- Total cost.
This is very hard to find as berries has a jump in JP every 25 levels. And even when the last berry has maybe 10x the efficiency as the first berry, you have to take into account the spawning rate. Assume that the distribution is equal for all berries, then the 10x efficiency becomes less tempting.

Your choice. No one forces you to do the 2 berry method. If you believe all-berry, 2-training or any other method is better, go with it.

It works. The cap is 20 I believe.
The amount of coins you get from them is fixed, will be the same amount each time. Will differ based on what coin bonus percentage you have from decorations and even Magikarp.

It's kind of annoying to figure out which ones are the lower level pokeballs and which are the higher level ones. You have to keep an eye out for them as they appear. Worth to keep the really high level ones around, and open the lower levels as they appear. But there is no good indication as they all look the same.

I trained 3 worthless Karps in a row : the one who beat the Heavy Leacue advanced 3 battles into the Great league. The next one took years to train, advanced only 1 battle above that. The next one also took ages to train and advanced 0 (ZERO) battles above the previous one. The following one barely managed ro beat the 5th boss of Heavy league and lost at the 6th. I advanced of 3 battles in 1 day.
Now the ine I just caught is shit too from what I could tell so I'll just sacrifice it. I can't retry too much because I really need that Shaymin moss and diamonds are way too rare.
I hope to be muckier next time because this is seriously starting to bore me.
I'm at gen 12 and level 18.

The hell you talking about. The only difference between Karps is how easy they are to train or how much gold they bring in. Each Karp's upper limit is based on your Trainer Lv.

You will need a Lv33 Karp to finish Great League.

I don't know what's your deal with them taking long to train. I'm Rank 21 in the Great League as well and with the 2 berry method I'm leveling a full Karp in about 10 minutes of hardcore berry tapping. Each berry gives me about 2k JP and I get a bit over 15 berries a minute.

So, after exactly 10 days, I've maxed out my rank, and I'm about to max my karp and beat the final expert league.
From that point, all I have left is grind more diamonds to buy all extras and money to upgrade my stuff. I can't wait to max level a karp without waiting the cooldown for training.
All I want to ask, is whether it's worth it to try to max level my berries/training. I can see the supply of coins growing scarce after a while, and with the diamond grinding patched out, I'll have a hard time grinding those as well (I'm just glad I got popplio before that supply went dry). If so, what strategy should I follow, berries first, or training? What is the max rank available for all of them?

At this point people have proven by screenshots and timeframes that the 2 berry strat actually works, BUT it is something that works for people who constantly play or check on their Magikarp, at least every 10-15 minutes. For more passive players, the regular method of unlocking everything is better.

To talk about myself, I restarted my game during Wednesday morning. Between constantly checking and feeding my karp and without counting work hours and time I spent playing FE Heroes, I reached Rank 50 yesterday afternoon. It is only after Rank 45 when you start feeling the slowdown as the berries cost above 8k to Rank up after Rank 65. I also spent on Charizard before unlocking Exeggutor and Lampent and unlocked all the trainings, so my time could have been shorter if I had focused on berries and money alone.

I currently got both berries at Rank 70 and I'm just better finishing the job before moving to trainings, but I jist wanted to make clear that both methods work fine depending on people's playstyle.

If you train and get Dwebble or Boldore Push, there's a trick you can do to get guaranteed "amazing effort". What you need to do is to not press the screen to not end the training. Magikarp will keep flailng, gradually pushing the pokemon off of the screen. Once the pokemon is completely outside of the screen, touch the screen and you will get an amazing effort. You can also end it earlier for a great effort, as long as you wait long enough. Slow, but worth it.

Been following 2berry, now at rank 27 and both Oran and Sitrus are at level 50. Should I stop and focus on levelling training for a while or still all in on berry?

I kinda feel like the 2berry strat ruined the game for a lot of people. While the most effective, it is by far the most boring playstyle, and really, you can beat the game without it in at worst two weeks.
I mean - I didn't really expect the game to last, since it's a throwaway mobileshit game anyway, but I expected it to last at least a bit longer, since most people who started on day1 should've been starting to hit max level somewhere between a few days ago and in a few days.
It kinda gives me an empty feeling. This is the first mobileshit I actually devote some time to and I hit max level yesterday. I'm a completionist, so I can see myself grinding the shit out of it for the coming weeks, but having nobody else to share it with kinda destroys the hook that kept me playing thus far.
