Anyway, this guy got Water Absorb in Gen 3, Recover in HGSS, and Scald+Unaware in Gen 5. Quagsire's been doing fine ever since, regardless of tier placement. If anything, it works to Quagsire's favor since you can use it in more than just OU.

Have you forgotten Smogon isn't the only place to do competitive? It made it one of the few starters worth a damn in any serious team.

3 Comments prior to mine bring up Smogon tiers and it's kinda vague where we say something was buffed too much. I don't have much to go on here as a result.

Furthermore, what about the other 5 starters with megas, Greninja, Infernape, and Serperior? If we're chucking tiers out the window, I don't see why they're not worth a damn in a serious team, especially if the distinction between singles and doubles is made. I'd say that's more than just a few.
