Thank you! I got a Magikarp in a Beast Ball from wondertrade so I've been using it for the shiny swap method and had boxes full of beast ball karps. I put them up asking for various pokes not in Moon and the trades are always successful! This is way faster than searching.. although it sucks that I have to look up hundreds of pokemon on a website because they're not in the Alola dex. Which other game would be best to get if I want to eventually get all 800+ pokes?

I averaged maybe 70-100 SR's a day. Keep in mind, at max speed i could only manage 12 SR's an hour, so it was closer to 50. Here's a greentext of what i went through

>decide to do it
>play through entire game
>trade over two level 100 Kyogres
>reset for Tyranitar, doing all SIX FIGHTS in Tower Colosseum every time, for a max speed of 15 minutes per SR
>notice my Ttar is always the same gender/HP
>do another test
>keeps happening
>find out it's set in stone after the first encounter if you dont catch it
>have to play entire game over again, coming up with a new plan
>get to Gonzap, catch Skarmory, it's shiny
>end up using that along with the Metagross to go through fights as quick as possible
>spend 3 hours resetting for an Adamant Metagross
>get one with flawless attack
>ev train both pokemon, spend literal days grinding in Mt Battle
>once they hit level 100, give Skarm a choice band
>do all 6 fights even slower than before
>after doing this for about 300-400 resets friend tells me to die at Evice to speed it up
>doing this skips the previous 5 fights
>since Ttar didn't come out it's not set
>reset #928, it appears
>send it out alongside Skarmory and finish the game, saving ASAP.

The whole process took me about 3 weeks of doing basically nothing but Colosseum. Needless to say, I don't want to play the game ever again.

This is my 5th shiny Ralts.It's not very special,but it's funny how I got it.

I was breeding to complete my set of synchronizers and the next synchronizer on my list was the Quiet one,but before that I was MMing for a Bulbasaur.I thought that it would be pretty funny if I got a shiny Ralts and not the shiny Bulbasaur.Go figure,the first egg contained a shiny Ralts with Quiet nature.

hello /vp/, i have a question i hope you could clarify.
i recently got sun after not playing pokemon since SS and i noticed getting shinies seems more common than before (got a goomy and mareanie in one egg each trying to fill pokedex). i just got the shiny charm last night and i want to start hunting for shinies. i noticed alot of people in this thread got them through SOS chaining and i wanted to know if that is the preferred method over breeding eggs.

Masuda method is a safer option with guaranteed good stats desired nature and EM but it's more time consuming who)e SoS is quicker but isn't as reliable for competitive mons as Synchronise is guaranteed to work only 50% of the time. So its up to you if you want the shinies just as trophies and collectables then just go for SoS.

Chaing always was more preffered method over hatching eggs, but breeding gives you more opportunities to manipulate Pokemon attributes. SOS Chaining is quicker but it has an issue - it rerolls itself after hitting 255 number to 0 and starts all over again.

That's my specialty right there. The only time soft-resetting has let me down was going 4,100 SRs for my shiny Registeel, even though I had the charm. As far as Gen 7, 207 SRs for my 1st Type: Null, and just under 600 for my second. Good luck on your hunts as well.
