It depends, if you have the money to buy your other games then sure, go for it, the 3DS is a pretty great console with amazing games.
But if you're short on cash it's probably better to buy an used New3DSXL that is already hacked or has 11.3 so you can hack it by yourself and get all of your games for free.

Do you know if there is any issue playing the Virtual Console titles of other regions with CFW? For example, can I play Japanese Pokémon Yellow on a non-Japanese 3DS or 2DS and then send the Pokémon to Bank and then my English Sun or Moon game?

I'm getting the n2ds for MonHun, Pokemon and Fire emblem.

What do you mean?

I wouldn't really suggest it. The games look pretty bad on the upscaled screens. Just a regular original model 3DS is probably better if none of the games that work only on the New systems interest you. Otherwise there isn't much point in just not spending a little extra and getting a regular size New 3DS.

I got used to the 2DS tablet design, and I really liked it. The hinges would just make me paranoid that it's going to inevitably break. That was the unique appeal of the 2DS for me, and Nintendo just had to ruin it.

I have a new 3ds and I'm considering buying this just because the bottom display has no protruding border.
You can replace the rubber nipple with a PSP control pad cap and have a fully fledged second stick, but on the 3ds the border gets in the way a bit.

Nintendo officially calls it a c-stick, but it's this little nubby nipple thing. Decent enough for camera controls in stuff like Monster Hunter, but definitely not an actual replacement for a second stick.
