>Gen VIII comes out
>This move still exists, unchanged
HOW CAN AN ENTIRE TEAM BE THIS FUCKING INCOMPETENT
WHAT A BUNCH OF FUCKING MORONS.
I want to legitimately punch the one person who had the chance of modifying this move (or removing it at all) yet decided to do nothing about it. This move itself is the biggest cancer in the franchise.
Even worse than furfaggotry.
>HOW CAN AN ENTIRE TEAM BE THIS FUCKING INCOMPETENT
dude, it's literally one guy balancing this game for competitive, if that.
99% of the staff just tries to balance in-game battles
>implying GF cares about balancing for Singles
>>32642957
This. Stealth Rock isn't a problem for vgc or battlespot singles so I don't expect it to get nerfed any time soon. Nintendo has proven time and time again they don't care about 6v6 singles and we can all suck it. That's why communities like Smogon even come up in the first place, we have to balance that game ourselves.
>>32642870
Game Freak doesn't give a fuck about smogon, they balance the game around VGC and Battle Spot Singles. Stealth Rock isn't broken there.
>>32643078
They're doing a pretty shit job regardless
I think the best solution for balancing ambiguous amethyst is to offer different type entry hazards. Entry hazards are fine, but giving 2 or 3 pokemon types a monopoly on entry hazards is what creates the problem.
Grass type - Rosy Thorns
Electric type - Electric Fence
Ghost type - Haunted Domain
Fairy type - Dainful Daisies
Poison type aleady has toxic spikes, it just needs better distribution
Fire Type - Hot Coals
Steel Type - Landmines
you get the idea
They don't care about sneaky stones because they don't care about 6v6 singles, where they're most relevant.
>>32643202
Didn't realize >>32643067 beat me to it, sorry.
But even if GF cared, it's a necessary evil. Dragonite and Volcarona would be overpowered, Fire would easily be the best singles type in the game, and stall mirror matches would be a nightmare because both sides would be incentivized to switch forever.
>>32643182
>Hot Coals
>burns incoming pokemon
>>32643683
toxic spikes poisons on entry so I don't see why not burning wouldn't apply.
>>32643182
>electric fence
Paralyze on switch-in, prevents switch out of non-Electric or Ground mons?
>>32642957
>>32643067
>>32643078
>>32643202
Stealth Rocks isn't even broken in Singles either. The only people complaining are Stallfags and scrubs.
never once had problems going against it on my machine
>>32643756
l used to have a problem with them, but over time I realized how necessary they kind of are. People just need to give up the notion of "muh bro gets destroyed on switch in and becomes useless" and actually git gud and create proper teams.
>>32643764
I would like it if rock types ate them on switch in. Then if they ever did multiple type entry hazards it could be another mind game of will opp switch with the mon who will eat the hazard or go to a counter to the mon Id use to counter.
it only needed to be modified, and they were too incompetent to do it
>Eain Dance/Hail/Hurricane/Surf/Blizzard/etc. removes SR
>suddenly the move doesn't centralize the metagame
you can say LEL GIT GUD but the fact is there are fewer useful Pokemon and fewer useful strategies than when there were less than half as many Pokemon in existence which is retarded on a massive scale
>always 10% damage, unaffected by type effectiveness
this is how it should be
>>32642870
Also, the fact that SM's final boss uses a stealth rock lead proves that GF is aware of how powerful the move is
>>32643971
based kukui
>>32643971
Is Kukui a Smogonfag?
>>32643756
>stallfags
And you lost me. I haven't played a stall team since since gen 6 oras ou but alot would have had to change. i had the bread and butter typical mega sableye stall team. Last time i checked stall gave no fucks about sneaky pebbles. Even without mega sab and diance i highly doubt stall would give any fucks about pebbles or any entry hazard since every good stall team would include a toxic spike absorber and a hefty wisher with pokemon that can heal themselves
