Actually I vastly prefer RBY to FRLG, actually. The numbered islands are shit, Gen III isn't really all that fun, and Kanto is kind of shitty without bugs.
I mean HGSS, sure they didn't fix the level curve, but they added interesting new areas, fixed Kanto a little bit, and the physical special split is a fantastic addition.

In DPPt and HGSS, the filters were only used for online multiplayer. BW and B2W2 expanded the filters to the rest. But XY, ORAS, and SM don't have filters of their own anymore because it's Nintendo that installs them on the 3DS and 2DS models, which means it's not exclusive to Pokémon.

Will GF use the Magma Stone in the remakes? They added it in DP but waited until B2W2 to use it. And yeah, it was also for Heatran in Sinnoh.

FRLG sucks because it carries over all the weaknesses of Gen I, without carrying over any of the strengths. It doesn't even add a compelling post-game, just some shitty side quests on some shitty islands that feel like a chore to navigate.

Yup, you can't evolve Pokemon that get evolutions in later gens for some arbitrary reason, and the game just rubs it in your face.
At the very least, HGSS fixed this huge oversight by adding new evolutions to the Johtodex.

And yet they keep steel type (and give some Pokemon steel moves for no real reason), changed around several tms, and added the islands? And that sort of argument is hypocritical, seeing as how ORAS are just "keeping true to RS" by not having the Emerald additions. I mean, at least ORAS kept new evolutions, expanded the regional dex a fair amount within the actual region, and had a (dare I say) fun post-game side quest. It still sucks that Battle Frontier was removed, but what can you do?

Yeah, I know, Ghost was physical because Gen I (probably because the idea was for it to hit Psychic's weaker defense, not that it matters because lol oversights), and Dark is special because they wanted to balanced the type chart and Steel sure as hell wasn't going to be a special type.
It still makes me mad that they had to make up special dark moves just for the split, and ghost still doesn't have a good physical move after the fact.
