Steel is a pretty common type for mono, people always try to properly prepare for it. I originally had a heracross as my steel counter but aegislash is basically a staple to any ghost or steel team so volcarona was picked.

I've actually been trying to make crab work since the first tourney.
In the last one, I made him with Bulk Up + Z-Close Combat in mind, but he was too frail to pull it off well, even under Aurora Veil.
Now I fell for the TR meme, and it's been pretty awful as well. TR just doesn't last long enough in singles for crab to be intimidating.

What's wrong with your team, though?
I like Krook and Krow, and I learned what the latter can do in game 3.

Yeah, but I think that's going to be every team this tournament, I imagine. I just got greedy with my love for Moxie, but its a learning experience and its not like I'm unable to have fun with this team.

For starters, I'm severely lacking in coverage options. I have zero electric coverage, zero grass coverage, one ice attacker, and just tons and tons of dark. I feel overprepared for certain types and underprepared for major threats. Anything that can set up on me can essentially wreck me (Sableye will hopefully prevent that but that is a dubious gamble).

I also feel like my team being half weak to Ice is probably going to bite me in the butt, as it very nearly did here.

I think from the 4 of the 6 teams ive seen in our group so far, it could be a very close group. As for your Moxie love, my dark team I didn't use in the end had a Moxie Scrafty planning to use Assualt vest for bulk and Drain punch to allow healing. Sounded good in theory in my head but never tested it.

The threat of Sableye possibly showing up is the main reason I took Hydreigon in both my games against you.

It's one of the starter types so you never have to box your starter, there are a lot of Water-types available in all games due to it being the most common type and overall it's a very well balanced and easy-to-use type with no notable weaknesses outside of Electric Gyms, and that's only if you don't have a Water/Ground Pokemon with you.

And play the original games so you can feel that nice progress as you go through the series.
