I do have a parasec, but it's shiny isn't as impressive - breloom and smeargle have nice shinies though. 60% acc for sleep adds some spice, 100% is just too easy and you know it. Watchog has just the right 'dose' to it's shiny color.

Just wanted to show off my Vivillon collection, just got around to taking pictures.
In my quest to get every shiny form of Vivillon through trade, I have acquired fuckton of Vivillon.
I reset my game a couple times to change forms, I bred Ocean, Icy Snow, Jungle, Archipelago, and Sun, and the rest I got through trading with random people through the PSS and the GTS. Have no idea how long it took, over a year.

If anyone has a Spewpa/Scatterbug with an English name I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

I've already hunted it. It's Houndoom. Although it is my absolute favorite Pokemon, I dislike the blue on it a lot, especially in the earlier generations. It just looks very off-putting to me. The first one for Houndour took me 192 eggs, and then over 900 more for the second.

Got a quick story.

So my six year old nephew tried his best to win a Pikachu toy from one of those rigged crane machines at this arcade, failed, and was bummed out for the entire ride home. So I let him play my ds for a while to try and pick his spirits back up. Turns out, he switches off Sonic 2 to Pokemon and he's seen me do multi egg hatching enough to mimic the process, and no more than four eggs in, "Hey, look at this one"

I don't know how I can make him understand how awesome this whole thing is, but I'm beyond thankful. He's such an awesome lil' guy.

Trading for them is the difficult part, I have the ability to make any Pokemon shiny, but who cares if I just made it that way.
It's hard to get my ideal Vivillon through trading (ball, name, nature, all shit you can't see when trading for something) It's easy to inject so there's no "thrill" to it. Taking a chance in trading for something is fun to me. Also it fulfill my gambling craving so I don't blow all my money.

TL;DR I wanted to do it this way, so I did. Simple as that.

Despite what I've seen people say here, I find sos to be a pretty cool method, I like having to think of my setup according to each mon, then once the setup is succesfully completed, it takes way less input than dexnaving does. Shame about the shiny animation in gen7 though.

I just grabbed Moon a few days ago and really want to get a shiny Wimpod. I haven't played since Ruby released but apparently there's a way to get shinies faster when you breed foreign parents? If I have a French Wimpod can I breed it with my English Ditto and have a better chance of getting a shiny? Does it matter if the Wimpod is male? And for other species that don't have the run away ability... is it better to do the SOS shiny chain thing when I hit a high level or better to breed foreign Pokemon?

My first and only shiny so far is an Archen I got from a Wonder Trade... which was probably hacked

If you breed those two (and considering you don't have the Shiny Charm), I'm pretty sure the odds are 1/1024 and no, the non-Ditto parent's gender doesn't matter. And about SOS vs. MM, it depends. If you're just looking for a trophy Shiny or anything like that it's the better method, but if you want one with nice IVs, guaranteed nature etc, go for Masuda Method (egg hatching).

Yup I made a team with 4 puppers and one Meowth. Farmed a bit at the Observatory because I could catch Beldums Ditto and Miniors for GTS, then switched to Poni Canyon to look for Jangmo. Anon wanting the shiny Wimpod here. So I have my Destiny Knot, a foreign Ditto with 2 or 3 Best IV's and some Wimpods. Do I need anything else before I put them in the Daycare? Also on average how many SOS battles does it take to get shinies? I think I did close to 300 SOS calls on a Wishiwashi between yesterday and today before I ran out of moves (didn't have any PP berries woops). Is it necessary to use an Absol with Pressure or can I use any poke with False Swipe?


And totally unrelated but why do people put shiny stuff on the GTS with impossible requests? Is it to show off?

Give Ditto the Destiny Knot. Check Wimpod's nature - if it has the nature you want give it an Everstone. The parent that is not a Ditto will pass down the nature to all of its offspring.

Okay, thanks for that link! I'll toss an Everstone on Wimpod then. The SOS system is pretty neat, I've gotten Khangaskan and even evolutions from it so far. And when I ended my Wishiwashi chain the one I caught had 4 maximum IVs despite being a low level. I think between making a Living Pokedex and shiny hunting I'm set until the next Pokemon game lol

There are 3rd party programs that are able to create impossible requests and inject such Pokemon to the game and then trade. Shinies on GTS are probably treats for "injectors" who will fulltify gamers' impossible requests.

Do any of you guys have slightly autistic habits that you do when shiny hunting? In a Poke Radar chain, I find some song off of my Spotify playlists and listen to it on loop until the chain breaks or I get a shiny. I've been sporadically hunting today (at a 37 chain right now on Pachi) and playing MTG online in between, so I've been listening to "Fins" by Jimmy Buffett for 3.5 consecutive hours now... kms

I Wonder Trade some since usually I put good egg moves on them, but most just get dumped in Bank to farm BP because I can't be assed releasing them all one by one.
