Why are bug pokemon weak to rock? They live under rocks.

Fish have scales, which are basically tiny rocks that protect it from other rocks
And rock types have shit defenses because they're rocks so literally anything will KO them.

In order to take rock attacks, you either have to be soft to absorb the rock, or harder than the rock like steel.

Ice/insect chitin are neither.

Be thankful bug only has three weaknesses, ice and electric could logically work as well.
