It was Max HP and Max Sp.Def, I used it to take a special hit and then Parting Shot to switch safely in a Wallbreaker or something that could setup.
It had Return and Thunderwave and maybe Explosion as the last move, but I'm not sure.

Why? This doesn't mean Machamp is bad, it means it's not being used that much, but I guess having a tier filled shitmons would give off that impression.
Like Slowbro and many others, Machamp will probably be banned when NU enters beta, and if not, so be it, lower tiers tend to be the comfiest anyway.

Really, this is just sugarcoating it, and while usage =/= viability, it sure still has some correlation

For comparison, Conkeldurr, with his better bulk, recovery and better offenses, is UU

Daily reminder that tiers are based on usage and being NU doesn't necessarily mean that the Pokemon is shit. It's just that with so many Pokemon running around in the SM metagame not everything can get high usage. There have always been NU Pokemon that are perfectly viable in the OU tier and there always will be.

New toy syndrome, actually being bad and having a strong counter that prevents it from functioning as intended (Greninja cucking Slowbro out of existence).
If Machamp doesn't get banned in NU beta, then I guess it really did fall from grace.

Also, both Machamp and Conk were UU last gen, even if they both play the same role, they do it differently, both of them have tools the other doesn't.
