Everyone did that though, admit it.
OP you should make a rule that forbids you from using items in battle, and also choose battle style set. It makes the game more fun and challrnging, and it doesn't make you feel like a special snowflake who can do things the other trainers can't.

That lucario also did some work for the Cynthia fight and was adamant nature, I got it hyper trained and fixed its EVs through the gens
