The problem with this is different people have different opinions on what's "inferior" and what isn't. I most likely value different qualities in a Pokémon than you do, and I'm sure that I would erase Pokémon you like and you would erase Pokémon I like. Every Pokémon is someone's favorite and removing even the shittiest, most unpopular Pokémon like Vanilluxe and Crabominable would probably piss off a vocal group of people.

There are only a handful of Pokémon I hate enough to want removed, most of which are from Gen 1 and Gen 7. If the alternative is removing Pokémon I might like, yes.
Even if they initially only removed Pokémon on a list made by me specifically, I wouldn't want to set the precedent of removing Pokémon from the game because it would mean they'd be more likely to do it to the ones I like in the future.

Trade items should be retconned to the biggest extent.
Z crystals and mega stones should be just one item (that you can have multiple of) and its effect varies depending on the mon its equiped to.

You can solve that without taking pokemon out(not to mention most of the mons being able to mega evolve and have exclusive z moves are some of the most popular ones).
Artifacts are an issue but not the pokemon.
