Because of sneaky stones. If Talonflame's not your lead, you're probably not getting priority anything. And even if it is, unless the first thing you do is fire off that Z-move, the opponent will most likely take a turn to hit your bird and prevent Gale Wings from functioning, if not outright KOing it.

lel no. With Lel's Psychic Terraine stopping most forms of priority, abilities introduced stopping priority, Koko being faster, and Gale Wings being nerfed, hurt its viability a ton. It's only riche in OU is Priority Supersonic Skystrike, but you have to make sure rocks are cleared and that Psychic Terrain isn't up.
But Talonflame did get banned from RU because tis still incredibly fast and still has hard hitting great offensive STAB combination. Also Yveltal had and still has the strongest prioirty move in the game.
