Literally just a god damn dog would be stoutland, he has rock parts and also ressembles a wolf. Designs can be basic and still good, see psyduck or growlithe. I mean I get that some people dislike that, saying it is outright terrible is pushing it. Sash lead midday does its job way better than midnight does as a bulky offense, in addition to midday's niche in sand teams, being in an unmatchable speed tier under sand, it can safely run choice band without worrying of being outsped or be a late game cleaner thanks to other powerful team members that usually play under sand, while midnight's most effective set is scarf, which is still outsped by more common scarfers like Heracross, while giving moves like Focus blast a 100% accuracy against you.

Midday isn't that underdesigned guys. It's mane and spikes together conveys the shape of a sun in contrast with it's night counterpart's mane being a moon crescent. The design is also very sleek, majestic, and clean unlike it's night counterpart whos very akin to Zoroark outside of the species. The Midnight form is more interesting for being an upright wolf but Midday's design has it's merits.

His proportions just look off for being a wolf. The design itself would be fine if it weren't so... unimpressive. Skinny legs make it look lanky and frail, which I know is to make it look swift but it just comes across as malnourished to me.
It's also so small. I know Midnight is only taller since it stands on two legs, but making this thing at least Manectric sized (4'11") instead of tiny (2'07") would help to make it grander.
I don't hate it, but it's just so underwhelming.
