If you don't mind, can you tell me how you edit these artworks so well in Photoshop?

I use the color replacement tool and sometimes the replace color option under the adjustments tab, but for a lot of darker artwork they don't seem to work too well, or I just suck.

I'm currently working on this female Unfezant as it's one of the last form changes I need to do, but I'm struggling with changing the main grey/black color to brown.

I'd appreciate it if you could give me a few pointers, but I understand if you don't want to.

For the majority, I just use the magic wand tool to select individual colors and change the hue lightness and saturation with the Hue/Saturation tool, sometimes I used the paint bucket to add a color to a white/ black portion so I can manipulate it.
Sometimes I use channel mixer if it's a major change. (skipping Silvally for now)
