signal beam isn't "learned by almost all space pokemon"
it's a fucking tutor move, 90% of pokemon have it

Might as well say that Land's Wrath, Precipice Blades and Geomancy are cosmic in nature then.

Also some of your other points are horrible.

Both Solar Beam and Synthesis are plant business about harnessing solar energy

Is this some meme that has passed me by?
Of course there are shadows in space. All you need for a shadow is a light source, something to block the light, and something to cast the shadow on. What the fuck do you think eclipses are, or do you think eclipses are restricted to earth? Also shit like meteor belts casts shadows on themselves constantly.

considering teleport, hyperspace hole, and hyperspace fury exist, probably something that isn't that fucking retarded

what's the point even? If Player A has Team 1 and Player B has Team 2 and Team 1 has this retarded move that it took you all of zero seconds to think up, then B has Team 1 and A has Team 2. So what's keeping B from just using the move again to get his team back? Why would you even think this move up? In what game does a mechanic this stupid exist?

those are reasons it's fucking bad you dipshit
>build an intentionally shitty team
>trade teams with opponent, even though this makes no sense from a flavor standpoint and has not been done in any game ever because anyone older than 9 can see how fucking stupid this is

there's no such magic card that lets you trade decks, nor is there a button that lets you swap your losing Ryu for your friend's winning E. Honda

stop defending this terrible idea
>>
>>32567495
>>build an intentionally shitty team
That sounds like an awful gimmick idea for a team that only sub 1100 would lose to. You would lose before using the move in the first place. Hell, there was an OM where you traded half of your team and making half of your team was actually a shit idea.

>there's no such magic card that lets you trade decks, nor is there a button that lets you swap your losing Ryu for your friend's winning E. Honda
That's a dumb comparison (and factually wrong as many board games (including Pokemon board games) and the OM I mentioned have similar trading mechanics). The difference between having a magical button swapping players in a fighting game and having a 5 turn effect of controlling your opponent's moves is pretty clear. A 1v1 live gameplay is extremely different from 6v6 turn based gameplay to begin with. Not only that, but pushing such button can happen on an instant, while the other requires that survive/outspeed, plan for the trade, and isn't even permanent.

Just because you can't beat teams without a late-game sweeper, it doesn't mean a mechanic of mid-match switching is op.
