That is only bad if you have to look up name of mythical/divine beings before you name a Pokemon.
If you name a Pokemon after something mythical you already know about, that's perfectly fine.

Pokemon aren't human, so human names on them sound off. Most mythological names are also unusual, making them a good match for Pokemon.
