There's fun ways to use it. Bulk up + stabs + rest with shed skin is solid once you get rid of fairies, and I've been using a dragon dance acid downpour set on a sticky web team this gen, and it's ok. Not great, there are better fighting and dark types, but if you like it enough it's usable. That's true of most pokemon.

I'd rather use SD Pangoro for a Sticky Web team as Mold Breaker ignores Mimiyu's Disguise and can OHKO Fairies without a Z move. Scrafty is usable on it's own merits but really suffers from it's competition.

Pangoro can't boost speed or pull off Shed Skin + Rest. Not to mention Doubles utility. Scrafty doesn't have any problems with Pangoro.

Hey, compared to other slow tanky fighting types, Scrafty has it made:

>dark typing allows him to negate the psychic weakness he'd have otherwise
>access to intimidate to further boost his bulk
>also gets an HP restoring physical STAB move in drain punch, keeping him alive
>Expansive physical movepool including the elemental punches, knock off and poison jab

Slap an assault vest on him and he's good to go. The problem is the influx of strong fairy types in gen 6 and especially gen 7.

Its in game animations since moving to 3D are abysmal and pretty much identical

They fulfill completely different niches though. Scrafty is a slow defensive Pokémon with offensive capabilities, Pangoro is a slow offensive type that gets OHKO'd by 3/4 of the metagame before being able to do anything.

Scrafty is a Fighting-type that can switch into Talonflame's Brave Bird (provided no Choice Band), tank a second Brave Bird and then OHKO with Stone Edge. What niche does Pangoro fill?

Pangoro fills the niche of being an RU wallbreaker and gets Gunk Shot to take care of fairies.. Literally nobody uses Scrafty in the current metagame, and it's already dropping to NU because it has no niche or offensive presence in walls and fairies: the metagame.
