Naw, even in the early groups, it was pretty much the same. Pretty sure the main reason it killed things was because half the people who took to those groups stopped playing pokemon once they could talk to friends they made in the threads without actually having to stay on-topic, and the rest mostly had what they wanted or needed anyway (like you said). It wasn't trading in FB or Skype that was the problem, it was the gradual lack of interest in something they didn't have to do just to socialize with a group of people anymore.

And then they made breeding piss easy, which didn't help.

I like the idea but if I use anything I get from there competitively I don't really want to be another hacker on the competitive scene. Also why did vgc allow mega ray but not every legendary? Chaining Ditto is the low-IQ method for obtaining a breeding Ditto. Mass-transfer Ditto from Virtual Console games instead. They're always guaranteed to have at least 3 perfect IVs and you get 4 perfect IVs fairly often too. It's faster an less stressful than chaining if you're doing it right.
I even got a couple of 5 perfects with this method.

Reminder that SOS chaining does not increase your chances of finding a 5 or 6 iv pokemon

Or even better: Don't buy into Ditto breeding like a casual, get the hexa seven and penta fourteen and only use Dittos for the few egde cases where you absolutely have to and just deal with 4IVs.

What exactly does chainkng do to shiny rates? No shiny encounter rate increasing items and I've got two in two days. I just got a shiny majikarp and I got a shiny mudsdale three days ago. Before this I've pretty much never got a shiny. Mudsdale wasn't have bad actually got 3 ivs.

If you catch a ditto in Pokemon blue with a glitch duplicated master ball and transfer it to sun moon is it still legal or no? Idk if I'd bother glitching master balls in blue just because it looks hacky but im curious. Because I've heard it's the best way to get 5 or ligit 6 iv ditto.

Using duped Masterballs doesn't affect the Ditto in Sun/Moon at all. It just speeds up the process. When transfering the Ditto, all IVs will be randomized; 3 will be 31. The ball will always be the standard Pokéball. The nature is generated by the EXP your Ditto had before it was transfered and after transfering the EXP is set to 0 for its corresponding level, if that makes sense. The game is basically creating a whole new Pokémon.
