While I don't object the idea of new type, the fairy interaction with other types was poor executed and comes from GFs thinking that the dragon's dominance on the meta was due type and not due their High BST, Good Distros, Good Secondary Typing and Large Move pools. I hope you are aware that Faries did nothing to stop dragons. The immunity is nice but every Dragon carries coverage against steel anyway and this also covers faries. Fighting types have been hurt way harder by Faries than Dragons. Dark types are extremly good despite Faries thanks to Knock Off and the buff from Gen 6.

The dumbest shit about Fairies is that their weaknesses come from uncommon offensive typings that dont bring much coverage. Unless you get STAB off them, you aren't using Poison or Steel moves. Just make them weak to Fire or U-turn desu.

Face it. Dragons dominated for years not because the type was OP, but because the individual mons were. Fairy barely phased any dragon worth mentioning. Instead they shat all over Fighting for no good reason, and present a typing far more cancerous than dragons ever were, even at the height of MagDrag, since at least fucking Ice Beam is regularly carried anyways.

Ice should resist fairy, but not because of light headcanon.

In mythos several fairfolk commanded insects to do their bidding, a famous one used insects to drop entire caravans down a cliff so it could eat the bones of the humans and horses.

Winter governed most fairfolk appearances and life cycles, having ice resist them would have been a perfect opportunity to stay on point with mythos and buff ice without buffing water.

Don't most fairies with broken/amazing abilities have average/balanced stats? I don't think Mimikyu would be one of the most used pokemon if it lacked Disguise. Fairies are one of few pokemon that relie on their abilities to be effective. They're like a reverse Dragon somewhat(huge stats but balanced/meh abilities)

You fags still don't get why Fairy resists Bug, do you?
Bugs are usually seen in Japan (specially in various movie franchises) as good guys, just like the Fighting-type, which is why Fairy also resists Fighting.
Also the reason why Fighting and Bug resist each other.
And also why Bug is super-effective against Dark.

If anything, instead of removing Fairy's resistance to Bug, I would remove Fighting's weakness to Fairy. Doesn't make sense being super-effective against one of the hero types and not the other.
