Interesting dichotomy. I feel that the first tier "Gad tier" - or as I will refer to them as "GAD primes" are the only ones that are required for these threads to "have a point" (though this is in contention) and the second set, the "gadlings," are definitely valued in our community in /gad/ . However, passed that, the conventions and arguments fall flat. Including very distantly connected characters (henceforth known as "Gad-likes") in the group seems to devalue the notoriety of the Gad primes. I see and understand your connection to Mega Swampert and Darmanitan, but I disagree that they deserve a spot in an official list next to the Gadlings and Gad primes. I propose that the Gad-likes be systematically chosen and considered all as an equivalent of a supporting cast - being relevant to discussion and eagerly grouped with the Gad primes and Gadlings, but not under the same classification.

Additionally, I feel that amending the list of these so-called "gad-likes" is imperative. Some Pokémon on your list share nearly no connections to the Gad primes, and are only connected as an attempt to fluff the numbers.

My proposed categorization is as follows:

Kyurem-Black
Druddigon
Kommo-o

>Gadlings
Thundurus-T
Hakamo-o

>Gad-likes
Mega Swampert/Swampert
Aggron
Zekrom
Kyurem
Palkia
Zygarde-Complete

Take note that the list of Gad-likes I have prepared is a skimmed down list of those you had suggested; However, I only included those with at least two of these three conditions:
>1) A Dragon typing or arguable dragon theme
>1a) It should be noted that "dragon" in asian countries and sometimes western ones is a much looser term than we are used to, but of the ones listed that are not Dragon-type, I believe that if they were introduced now with an additional Dragon-typing that people would not object.
>2) Gorilla-like posture and/or notably muscular arms and forearms.
>3) A correlation and connection to previously determined Gads.

But the essence of Gad is a merging of draconic energy and gorilla strength. I believe wholeheartedly that we should seclude those that file into only one of the two categories. Otherwise we would have an argument to include every Dragon-type as well, which as we can tell doesn't make sense - would you be OK with pic related being included alongside the Gads, despite obviously not having gorilla arms? If not, then it is equally true that a Pokémon that solely shares characteristics of the gorilla should not be included, either. You cannot have Gad without both parts.
