I didn't know that, so I just watched the episode on youtube.

It's a great development piece for Ambipom, and a great window into it's skills and personality, but it sorta feels like the writers weren't exactly sure how to handle Ambipom for contests so they concocted a plot about ping-pong to write it out of the show.

I would like to see Dawn come back later in the series with Ambipom back in her party as a complete motherfucker, though.

Staraptor is definitely the best bird, it's my second favorite Pokemon period.

For early Bug-types, I really like Dustox and Vivilion, though only Vivilion is really usable. Leavanny is my favorite Bug-type, and it is the first bug line you'll encounter in BW1, but I don't know if one'd consider it Unova's "regional bug".

I like all of Butterfree, Linoone, Vivillon, Vikavolt, Unfezant, Staraptor, Toucannon, Talonflame, Gumshoos, and Furret. Though Furret is in a weird place that on paper it's the regional mammal thing but it's fairly rare and Raticate ends up being it again.

Gumshoos probably fits this thread the best. Everyone else is just "IT'S THE TRUMP POKEMON BUILD A WALL" etc. but I actually used one during my second Sun Nuzlocke and grew attached to him. Helps he survived the whole adventure where others did not.

As someone who likes Crabominable and has Probopass as their all time favorite I still find a difference between the two. Crabominable still has some features I find absolutely completely unnecessary or could've been done better.
